Oscar nominee opens in S.F. "Promises," a documentary examining the lives of Palestinian and Israeli children living in and around Jerusalem and the West Bank, opens today at the Opera Plaza Theater, 601 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco and at Fairfax Cinema 4, 9 Broadway, Fairfax. Created by local filmmakers Justine Shapiro, Carlos Bolado and B.Z. Goldberg, "Promises" was made before the current intifada.
