World Report

LONDON (JTA) -- The man who crashed Prince William's 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle is the son of a Holocaust survivor.

Aaron Barschak, a 36-year-old comedy actor from North London, managed to scale walls and evade royal security police Saturday evening. Then, dressed as Osama bin Laden in a ball gown, he climbed onto the stage and interrupted the thank you speech of the second-in-line to the British throne. Some reports say Barschak also donned a tallit before he made his unscheduled appearance.

Barschak's father, Fred, denied that his son, who calls himself the "comedy terrorist," had intended to cause a security alert, saying it was a comic stunt. The government has ordered a major review of royal protection after the highly embarrassing incident.

Pork in 'kosher' meat hits Holland's Jews

AMSTERDAM (JTA) -- Observant Jews may have eaten pork without knowing about it, according to the Dutch government.

Holland's Ministry of Agriculture said several companies had added proteins originating from cows and pigs to the chicken meat they process, allowing the meat to absorb more water.

Three agricultural companies that used these methods officially have been warned by the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Dutch national supervisor of processed foods has launched an investigation.
