Now you can eat like the patriarchs

Have you ever wondered what kind of meal Moses sat down to after a rough day at the office? Did you ever think you might eat it in Berkeley?

The Berkeley Richmond Jewish Community Center and Reform Congregation Beth El are co-sponsoring an evening of biblical foods at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29. The event will be held in the auditorium of the BRJCC, 1414 Walnut St., Berkeley.

Caterer Mica Talmor-Gott and Donny Inbar, the Consulate General of Israel’s cultural attaché, will serve appetizers and put on a cooking demonstration.

Reservations are required before Feb. 20. Tickets are $18 for members of the BRJCC or Beth El and $22 for non-members.

For information, call (510) 848-0237 or info@brjcc.com.

Event benefits Geneva accord

The Tikkun Community and Michael Lerner will stage “Wage Peace,” a benefit in support of the Geneva accords on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.

The event, which will take place at the University of San Francisco Presentation Theater, 2350 Turk, will feature spoken word, storytelling, music and dance.

Tickets are available for a sliding scale of $15 to $25, and can be purchased online at www.tikkun.org. For more information, call (510) 528-6250.
