Engagement

Leanna Kinsey of Los Angeles, daughter of Lynne and Stephen Kinsey of San Jose, and Michael Shuster of Pasadena, son of Judy and Dr. David N. Shuster of Fresno, have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is working toward a doctorate in chemistry at UCLA. Grandparents are Eunice Coleman of Millbrae and the late Mervin Coleman, Susan Kinsey of San Jose and the late Ad Kinsey.

Her fiancé plans to return to school to study education. Grandparents are Isobel and Sam Shuster of Montreal, Esther Veroff of Fresno and the late Jack Veroff.

Leanna and Michael met at Shabbat dinner at a friend’s house. The proposal took place in the Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino. A Feb. 27 wedding at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga is planned.
