Aggressive racist leafleting in Sierra foothills
A Sunday night leafleting binge by the racist National Alliance left cars in the Sacramento and Placer County areas plastered with anti-black and anti-Jewish hate literature.
The top sheet of the three-page packet was emblazoned with an image of a blond woman and the title “Love Your Race.” The next two pages included lurid tales of black-on-white crime and anti-Semitic quotes attributed to the Rev. Billy Graham, Presidents Nixon and Washington, and Ben Franklin and Henry Ford.
Leaflets were found in the communities of Rocklin, Roseville, Wilhaggin, Folsom, Carmichael and Citrus Heights.
According to Nancy Appel, the Anti-Defamation League’s regional associate director, the leaflet’s content and placement were legal, “but people are still really angry and violated.”
She has been in contact with law enforcement officials in the affected communities to discuss appropriate responses, including presentations in local schools.
