Deaths
Sara Goldberg in San Bruno on Sept. 9, 2006 at age 94. Beloved wife of the late Isaac Goldberg, loving mother of Vivian and Harvey Goldberg, dear sister of the late Gussie Peyser, Harry, Herman, Moishe and Joseph Buchwald. Loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and the late Alex Buchwald. Dear sister in law of Celia Proctor, and Abe and Annette Goldberg. Sara was born in Bialy, Poland. Long time member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Daly City and Womens’ American ORT and long time volunteer for HICAP.
Services were held at the Hills of Eternity Chapel, Colma.

Mollie Hertz on September 12 in Oakland at 97 years of age. Born in Poland, the oldest of four siblings. She immigrated to the United States, through Canada, as a young teenager with her family. Both of her brothers served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She moved to Oakland with her late husband Herman in 1933.
Herman was very active in the Jewish Community and she stood with him the whole way while raising three sons.
Survived by her sons Gerald (Ruby), Seymore (Marilyn) and John (Rhonda) and their families. Services were held Friday, September 15 at 3 p.m. at Home of Eternity Cemetery in Oakland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mollie Hertz Fund at Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland or to the charity of your choice.
Dollie Werdesheim passed away at her home on September 16, 2006 following a long illness. Born in San Francisco on January 18, 1915. Beloved wife of 66 years of the late Herman Werdesheim; loving mother to Elaine (Kieve) Goodstein and Gary (Suzanne) Werdesheim; devoted “Nan” to her grandchildren, Shari Weber, Robin (Jon) Rose, Pete (Elizabeth) and Gita Werdesheim. We extend our deep appreciation to Ilda Fonacier and Ophelia P. Hall for their loving care and dedication over the past seven years.
Cryptside services were held at Salem Memorial Park on El Camino Real in Colma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Crossroads Hospice, 1109 Vicente Ave. No. 104, S.F. 94116 or a charity of choice.
