Night by night

For the first time, each night of Chanukah will be celebrated at the Westfield Shoppingtown Valley Fair Mall in Sunnyvale with the lighting of candles, songs and projects for passers-by. The celebration will be located on the upper level near Macy’s men’s store.

It is hosted by the entire Jewish community, and coordinated by the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley and the Cantors and Rabbis Association of San Jose. Organizations hosting each night include:

• Tonight, Friday, Dec. 15 — Yavneh Day School

• Saturday — Congregation Shir Hadash

• Sunday — Congregation Beth David

• Monday — South Peninsula Hebrew Day School

• Tuesday — Eitz Chaim Academy

• Wednesday — Congregation Sinai

• Thursday — Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley Young Adults Division, Hillel and synagogue college groups

• Friday — Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center Camp Kislev

• Tonight and Friday, Dec. 22, candlelighting will be from 3 to 4 p.m.

• Saturday, Dec. 16 through Thursday, Dec. 21, candlelighting will be from 6 to 7 p.m. n
