Shorts: The Arts
New music, old inspiration
“Anointed,” a new musical composition by Jewish composer Daniel David Feinsmith, premieres at the Pacific Chamber Symphony this spring.
The composition was commissioned by the Bay Area symphony. It was written to convey Jewish ideas and feelings while drawing on mystical texts.
The concerts will be held throughout the Bay Area from April 26 through May 1.

Henry Rollins’ Israel show on TV
The Independent Film Channel has kicked off the second season of “The Henry Rollins Show” with “Henry Rollins: Uncut From Israel.”
The show weaves Rollins’ spoken word show in Tel Aviv with documentary footage chronicling a tour around Jerusalem.
Rollins — a rocker, actor, author and spoken word artist — visited the Kotel, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the West Bank security barrier. The project marks Rollins’ first visit to Israel in 10 years, and features commentary on pop culture, world events and the resilience of Israelis. It also includes a conversation with Israeli photojournalist Ziv Koren, who leads Rollins on a tour of the country.
“Henry Rollins: Uncut From Israel” premiered Friday, April 13 on IFC. Check local listings for repeat airings.
