‘Citizen Josh’ run extended

The premiere run of Josh Kornbluth’s new one-man show “Citizen Josh” has been extended through June 17 at the Magic Theatre. Written and performed by Kornbluth, the show takes a comic look at the nature of democracy and citizenship.

“Citizen Josh” opens 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19 then plays at 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays; and at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays through June 17 at the Magic’s Sam Shepard Theatre, Fort Mason Center, Building D, S.F. Former Eurovision winner back in studio

Israeli singer and former Eurovision winner Dana International will release her first album in five years this summer. Her new single, “It’s All for the Better,” was released last month.

Dana is currently working on her new album, which includes songs written and composed by Dana herself.

“This isn’t the first time that I’ve really written,” she said. “I’ve always loved shoving my nose in different areas, but this is certainly the first time it’s a little more serious.

“I’ve had some things in my head for years, and we decided to use them. One of the songs is very joyful and reflects the gay Dana, no pun intended. The other song is very melancholy. The lyrics are very personal,” Dana explained.

When asked why it took her five years to record another album, Dana replied, “There is no special reason. I could sit here and go on about how it took me four years to create, and to reach the result that I wanted, but it would be a complete lie.”

Regarding Israel’s entry for this year’s Eurovision — Teapacks’ “Push the Button” — Dana said that she did not particularly like their song choice for the competition, but that she loved the band and has complete faith in them. — ynetnews.com
