G.I. Joe creator launches Bible figures

The creator of G.I. Joe has launched action figures with characters from the Old Testament.

Don Levine’s Almighty Heroes line hopes to attract boys and girls with figures of Noah and Moses and dolls of Queen Esther and Deborah the Warrior. The characters will come with a Bible storybook and accessories. “It is my desire that these inspirational action figures and fashion dolls create excitement for kids and develop their interest in the characters and messages of the Bible,” said Levine, who created the popular G.I. Joe action figure in 1963. Family Values LLC, the company Levine heads, plans to introduce 67 toys in the fall based on the action figures and Bible stories. Plans also call for a television and DVD series with the characters. — jta
