Livni ranked most powerful Israeli woman
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is the world’s most powerful Israeli woman, according to Forbes Magazine’s annual listing of the 100 most powerful women in the world.
Livni ranked 39th in the annual list, up one place from 40 in 2006. Galia Maor, president of Israel’s Bank Leumi, came in at 83, up from 88 in 2006.
Former Israeli resident Safra Katz, president of the software giant Oracle was the 21st most powerful woman, and Orit Gadiesh chairman of Bain & Co. consulting firm, another Israeli residing abroad, just made the list at number 98. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was at the top of the list for the second year in a row. — ynetnews.com
