Dr. Larry and Linda Silverberg Miller, of Napa, Calif. joyously announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessamyn Miller, to Ean Kryska, of Chicago.
Jessamyn is the sister of David Miller and of Natasha Miller. She is the granddaughter of Anita Miller and Judd Miller (of blessed memory) of Chicago, and of Murray and Dorothy Sills, of blessed memory, of Chicago. Jessamyn, a 2002 graduate of Napa High School and a 2006 graduate of U.C. Santa Cruz, is currently in her second year of graduate school at the Art Institute of Chicago, pursuing her passion for historic preservation.
Ean is the son of Jerry and Marla Kryska of Deer Park, Ill. and the brother of Brett Kryska. He received a BA in political science from the University of Illinois, Champaign, in 2002, and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2005. He is an associate in a Chicago-area law firm.
The couple plans to marry next year.
Bonny Lisa Polse, 42, of San Francisco and Gary Alan Osterman, 50, of New York are engaged to be married on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Trader Vic’s in Emeryville. This is a first marriage for both.
Bonny has a degree in creative writing from San Francisco State University, and is the owner of HomeBonny’s, a local and Internet-based business specializing in baked goods, gift baskets and event planning.
She is the daughter of San Francisco author and painter Barbara Rose Brooker and Ronald Polse of Concord; sister of Suzy and Henry Unger of Beverly Hills; and granddaughter of the late Leona and Barney Rose of San Francisco and Lenore and Emil Polse of Walnut Creek.
Gary Alan Osterman, 50, is an architect, graduate of Arizona State University and principal of Berkeley firm architecture + interiors.
He is the son of Horace and Florence Osterman of New York; brother of Dr. Eric and Carol Osterman of Houston, Texas; and grandson of the late George and Emma Osterman of New York and Philip and Rose Dressman of Pittsfield, Mass.
Don and Masha Shifs of Novato are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandy Joy Shifs, to Sean Francis O’Brien. Sean is the son of Jeannie O’Brien of Citrus Heights and John O’Brien of Penngrove.
Sandy is the sister of Melanie and Frank Sarubbi and Spencer Shifs. She received her B.A. in sociology from Pitzer College in Claremont and her M.S. in education from Dominican University. She is a first grade teacher for the Vallejo City Unified School District. Grandparents are Rita Shifs and the late Jerome Shifs, and the late Judy and Sam Waserman.
Sean is the brother of Dana and Michael Cheney, Rick and Denise Neptune, Andrea Neptune, and Craig and Heather O’Brien. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College and is the facilities coordinator for Grubb & Ellis in Novato. Grandparents are the late Peggy and Will Henchey, and the late Marion and John O’Brien, Sr.
Sandy and Sean met on a blind date arranged by Sandy’s sister, Melanie Sarubbi. A summer 2008 wedding is being planned.
