Jewish museum gets $410,000 outreach grant
San Francisco’s Contemporary Jewish Museum was one of 11 San Francisco arts organizations chosen for a $6.3 million grant from the Wallace Foundation aimed at boosting growth in public attendance and participation.
The CJM, which was awarded $410,000 to be disbursed over the next four years, will use the money to foster its “Family Outreach Initiative,” which aims to mitigate financial barriers for low-income families and publicize the museum as a venue for people of all backgrounds. The initiative also calls for an increase in interactive family programming and special events.
The New York-based Wallace Foundation is an independent, national foundation dedicated to supporting and sharing effective ideas and practices that expand learning and enrichment opportunities for all people.
