Weddings

Deborah Lynn Breiner and John Northcutt Grund were married Sept. 8.

The bride’s father, retired Marin Superior Court Judge Richard H. Breiner, officiated over an outdoor ceremony, which was followed by a reception at St. Vincent’s School for Boys in San Rafael. Rabbi Michael Barenbaum, a longtime friend of the bride and her family, co-officiated.

The bride, from San Rafael, is the daughter of the Honorable Richard H. Breiner and Dorothy L. Breiner. The groom, from Pasadena, is the son of the late John M. and Edith Juanita Grund.

After honeymooning in Hawaii, Florida and New York, the newlyweds are living in San Rafael, where Deborah will continue her estate planning law practice. John owns Grund Guide (a golf course yardage-marker business) and teaches golf at McInnis Park Golf Course in San Rafael.


Stacey Saber and Greg Segal were married on Friday, Oct. 26 in Sydney, Australia. The ceremony took place under a chuppah in the garden at Lindesay House, Darling Point, followed by a luncheon on the patio overlooking Sydney Harbor. Rabbi Jeffrey Kamins of Temple Emanuel in Woollhara officiated. A celebration and champagne brunch was held at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores, Calif. on Sunday, Nov. 18 to honor the couple. Cantor Doron Shapira of Peninsula Sinai Congregation in Foster City, Calif. performed the seven blessings.

Stacey is a senior associate with Macquarie Bank in Sydney. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics from U.C. Davis. She is the daughter of Merle Saber of San Mateo, Calif. and Anthony and Lynn Saber of Sydney. Grandparents are Zina and Rudolph Stokol of Walnut Creek, CA, and the late Eveline and George Saber of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Greg is a commodities trader with Glencore in Sydney. He received his bachelor’s degrees in law and commerce from the University of New South Wales. He is the son of Desi Segal and Colin Segal of Sydney. Grandparents are the late Shirley and Fred Kingsbury of Johannesburg, South Africa, and the late Lena and Isadore Segal of Auckland, New Zealand.

The couple has been together for five years after Stacey met Greg in Sydney while she was an exchange student at the University

of New South Wales. The couple honeymooned in Lord Howe Island in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, and will make their home

in Bellevue Hill, Sydney.
