Stanford Hillel, director receive national awards

Hillel at Stanford has two new reasons to be proud of itself.

The organization recently received dual awards at Hillel International’s annual Professional Staff Conference: the Best Place to Work Award, and the Exemplar of Excellence Award for Executive Director Adina Danzig.

The coveted Exemplar of Excellence Award is given to Hillel professionals who exhibit superb leadership skills in the field. Out of over a thousand Hillel professionals worldwide, only one or two are chosen every year to receive the award.

Hillel President Wayne Firestone said that Danzig was chosen for her “gift for diplomacy and extraordinary patience [that] has enabled Adina to diffuse potentially volatile issues and turn them into opportunities for meaningful dialogue and education.”

The awards were presented Dec. 19 at a dinner at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.
