PARKING

• Jessie Square Garage: 223 Stevenson St. (off of Third Street)

• Fifth & Mission Yerba Buena Garage: 833 Mission St. (between Fourth and Fifth streets)


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

• BART and Muni Metro lines J, K, L, M, N, and T all stop at the Powell and Montgomery Street stations on Market Street.

• Muni bus lines 5, 6, 7, 9, 16, 21, 31, 38 and 71 stop on Market Street between Fifth Street and New Montgomery. The 14 and 14L stop on Mission Street at Third Street.

• Golden Gate Transit lines 70, 73 and 80 stop at Mission and Third streets.

• SamTrans and AC Transit buses arrive/depart from Transbay terminal at First and Mission streets.

• Adults: $10

• Seniors (65 and older) and students with a valid ID: $8

• Members and youth 18 and under: free

• Thursdays after 5 p.m. $5 for all paying visitors

• Groups of 10 or more: $1 off the individual ticket price


ACCESSIBILITY

• The museum is fully accessible. Wheelchairs (as available) can be borrowed. Visit the admission desk.


FREE PUBLIC TOURS

• Friday through Tuesday: 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• Thursday: 2 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

• Participate in an interactive guided tour to learn more about the museum’s exhibitions and architecture while contributing your own voice and interpretations to a lively discussion of art and ideas.


CELL PHONE TOUR

• Discover how renowned architect Daniel Libeskind brought the landmark Jessie Street Power Substation back “to life” on a free cell phone tour. Pick up a list of cell phone tour stops anytime at the admission desk to get started. No cost to you except your cell phone minutes.


GROUP AND SCHOOL TOURS

• Delve deeper into the museum’s exhibitions or architecture on a private tour with your school, organization or group. For more information or to schedule a tour, email tours@thecjm.org or call (415) 655-7856.


FAMILY GALLERY ADVENTURES

• Every Sunday at 1 p.m.

• Free with admission

• Explore exhibitions through stories, movement, art and careful looking during one of these interactive, educator-led tours designed especially for family audiences.


FAMILY ARTPACK

• Filled with age-appropriate activities, ArtPacks are designed to help families explore the museum and its exhibitions together. Check out an ArtPack at the admission desk anytime you visit.

• Free with admission.


DROP-IN ART PROGRAM

• Every Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.

• Free with admission

• Experiment with new materials and techniques as you create art together as a family. Rotating themes are related to museum exhibitions, architecture, or Jewish holidays and traditions.


MAKE YOUR OWN ART

• Enhance your experience at the

museum with a visit to the Sala Webb Education Center. This drop-in facility is an inviting and engaging place for

visitors of all ages, featuring classrooms for hands-on art activities, exhibition space, comfortable areas for reading and computer stations.

BECOME A MEMBER

• Museum members enjoy unlimited

free admission to the museum, invitations to opening receptions, discounts on tickets to special performances, and 10 percent off purchases made at the museum store and Cafe on the Square.

VOLUNTEER

• The museum is seeking volunteers to help with special events, educational programs, operations and administrative tasks, or to serve as community docents. People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
