Shop and nosh while you’re there

Though few can afford museum-quality art, many more can enjoy images or replicas of great art — and the Contemporary Jewish Museum’s store can accommodate that.

The store will offer a mix of contemporary Judaica that celebrates milestones in Jewish life, exhibition-inspired merchandise, scholarly and popular publications for a range of ages, jewelry, gifts and toys. All proceeds will support the museum’s exhibits and education programs.

The 2,000-square-foot shop is located on the main level of the building and can be accessed through the museum’s grand lobby or directly off Yerba Buena Lane. It will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and until 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Museum members will receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases.

The Café on the Square, located in the easternmost section of the historic Jessie Street Power Substation, will offer a variety of seasonal soups, sandwiches and salads — as well as a contemporary spin on Jewish favorites.

Visitors to the café can eat inside or (weather permitting) in an outdoor seating area overlooking Jessie Square and Yerba Buena Gardens.

The cafe is open every day except Wednesday. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Thursdays until 7:30 p.m.
