Deaths


Stanley Baer

Stanley Baer M.D., in Greenbrae, on June 5, 2008 at age 72. Son of the late Carl and Mollie Baer; dear brother of the late Norton Baer, all of Cleveland Ohio. Beloved husband of Dena G. Baer for 44 years; loving father of Neil Scott Baer (fiancée) Amy Buster, Lee David (Tessa) Baer and Emily Kate Baer.

Dr. Baer received his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University, attended medical school at Washington University, interned at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, and completed his residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. From 1967 to 1969 he served in the U.S. Air Force, Medical Corps.

A board-certified orthopedic surgeon since 1969, Dr. Baer recently retired from 40 years of private practice in San Francisco. He was affiliated with St. Luke’s Hospital, where he served as both Vice Chief and Chief of Orthopedics. He also had affiliation with California Pacific Medical Center and The Seton Medical Center in Daly City.

A longtime member of Congregation Sherith Israel, he will be sorely missed by his family, many friends and colleagues. Funeral services were held Friday, June 6 at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Society or a charity of your choice.


Zebrack, Sharon

Sharon Zebrack, 66, beloved mother of Sara Delphine and Lisa Zebrack; dear sister of Art (Liz) Spander. Graduate of UCLA and former owner of Sharon’s Auto Sales in Monterey. Services Friday, 10 a.m. at Home of Eternity Cemetery Chapel, 5000 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to Reutlinger Community for Jewish Living, 4000 Camino Tassajara, Danville, CA 94506, www.rcjl.com, would be appreciated.
