Obama to visit Israel before election
Sen. Barack Obama reportedly plans to visit Israel before the presidential election in November, according to the daily newspaper Yediot Achronot.
The presumptive Democratic candidate announced this week that he will also tour Iraq and Afghanistan ahead of his showdown with the Republican’s likely nominee, John McCain.
Citing sources in the Obama campaign, the newspaper reported that the candidate also will go to Israel for talks with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other top officials.
