Olmert, Abbas to rendezvous at Paris summit

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will meet in Paris later this month as part of the Union for the Mediterranean summit.

The Paris summit will gather the 27 European Union members to discuss shared economic, security, cultural and environmental goals.

Syrian President Bashar Assad also will attend the event, but is not expected to meet with Olmert. — jta
