Fundraiser shielded Edwards’ paramour
A top Jewish Dem- ocratic fundraiser helped shield the former mistress of John Edwards from public attention.
Fred Baron, a Texas trial lawyer who was the top fundraiser for Edwards’ failed presidential bid, helped pay for Rielle Hunter to move from Edwards’ home state of North Carolina to a $3 million home in Santa Barbara.
News accounts said Baron wanted to protect Hunter, who had worked for the Edwards campaign as a videographer, from tabloid attention. — jta
