Israel schedules anniversary festivities

Highlights of events celebrating Israel's 50th anniversary include the following:
*Jubilee extravaganza April 27 and 30 and May 2 in Jerusalem

*The mayor of Jerusalem's reception for tourists April 30

*A re-enactment of the day Israel declared independence, May 1

*Jubilee Jerusalem Day parade May 24

*50th Jubilee Israel Festival from May 24 to June 13

*Jubilee exhibition Aug. 3 to 31

*International opera concert Aug. 27 in Tel Aviv
