Rosh Hashanah cooking class set in Aptos A cooking class for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Temple Beth El, 3055 Porter Gulch Rd. in Aptos. Participants will learn how to prepare traditional foods for the Jewish New Year and receive written recipes to take home. All recipes can be adjusted for today's healthy ways of cooking and baking. Instructor Esther Weitzman also will teach cooking classes for Chanukah and Passover later in the year. The class is free to members and costs $5 for others. For information, call (408) 479-3444.
